​​MAHYUDIN AHMAD is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Perlis Branch, and an Associate Fellow at the Accounting Research Institute (ARI), UiTM Shah Alam. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. From 2015 to 2017, he was an academic visitor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge. His research interests lie in the field of Applied Economics, particularly in the analysis of economic growth, institutional quality, financial development, and income inequality, with a focus on empirical applications using panel data and spatial econometrics analysis. He has published more than 30 empirical papers in highly reputable journals, including the International Journal of Finance & Economics, Economic Change & Restructuring, Journal of Policy Modeling, Margin: The Journal of Applied Economic Research, Economies, Institutions & Economies, International Journal of Social Economics, New Zealand Economic Papers, International Journal of Business & Society, and many others. He has reviewed over 75 pre-publication manuscripts for numerous top-indexed journals, such as Economic Modelling, European Journal of Political Economy, World Development, The Social Science Journal, Journal of Asian Economics, Financial Innovation, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Annals of GIS, Emerging Markets Finance & Trade, International Economic Journal, Journal of Spatial Science, Spatial Economic Analysis, Papers in Applied Geography, Economic Change & Restructuring, and Journal of International Development, among others. During his PhD at Leicester, he attended advanced econometrics courses, including the Advanced Workshop in Macroeconometrics conducted by S. G. Hall (who was also his PhD supervisor), the Advanced Workshop in Microeconometrics by B.H. Baltagi, and the Introduction to BHPS Data and Panel Data Analysis using Stata by S. Longhi and A. Nandi. In 2017, he attended the Cambridge-INET Panel Data Workshop at the University of Cambridge, where speakers included Peter C.B. Phillips (Yale University), Peter Robinson (LSE), Hashem Pesaran (USC), and Whitney Newey (MIT). Since 2012, he has conducted more than 30 workshops on panel data and spatial analysis at UiTM, including at ARI UiTM Shah Alam, as well as at UiTM branches in Pahang, Johor, Perlis, Kedah, and Melaka. He has also conducted workshops at the Centre for Testing, Measurement, and Appraisal (CeTMA), Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia.
